20.03.15 Oak literacy - play scripts

Today our literacy learning did't involve opening our exercise books! We spent the lesson reading through a play script. The clips might sound a little quiet, but the next couple of posts there will be some examples.

Oak Class wow words.

Mrs Rolls challenged the class to find unfamiliar words to look up in the dictionary during guided reading. We also searched for powerful verbs. Can you find more of these words in your reading book during the weekend?

Design Brief: You must design your transport accurately remembering that it must be suitable for Roman roads, it will be tested to see if it can safely transport goods. Your transport must..
- Move manually
- support a load
- Be built using accurate measurements from Plan.
- Be built using basic materials

We will have to see how they do!

Maths 13.03.15

Oak class tried pouring different quantities of liquid into a jug, before marking 0.25l, 0.5l and 0.75l on the scale of the jug. Later children helped to shade in the different amounts of liquid, and wrote in the corresponding fractions and decimals. Who can work out how much would be shaded for 0.1l?
